Important thing not in Bionic 18.04 release notes - postgresql 10

Asked by Jim Kolberg

This isn't a question or a bug, but I don't know where else to report it. Postgresql went from ver 9.6 in Artful to 10 in Bionic. I didn't see this in the release notes. The versions are not compatible, and you can't upgrade to 10 without having both 9.6 & 10 simultaneously on your machine. Ver 9.6 isn't available in the Bionic repos. The link below has a repo with the 9.6 version, and instructions to install it. So I can mount the database, and will try the upgrade next weekend. The correct procedure would be to install 10, run pg_upgrade on the database before upgrading ubuntu.

Ubuntu 18.04 is still in development, and the release notes are not yet ready. I think that you have to wait for the final version.

(Remark: I do not find a postgresql version for Ubuntu 17.10 on the link that you provided).

Can you help with this problem?
