'ClickLock' function in MouseTweaks needed

Asked by Damir

In Ubuntu 8.04. I enabled MouseTweaks, but I'm missing a function like 'Click Lock' (on Windows - single click 'locks' mouse button down, simulatin 'drag', second click releases it). Very usefull if one can not keep mouse button down while dragging.
Found https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Accessibility/Specs/MouseTweaks/mousetweak5 describing something like this, but it's not implemented. Yet?

That spec is what you are looking for and yes it seems not to be not implemented.
Is there any reason you may need this urgently?

Because of my disability I only have limited 'hand function' and cannot keep a mouse button down, and move my trackball at the same time. I found this option 'Click Lock' in Windows (pressing the left mouse button for x seconds, which 'locks' the cursur and lets you drag an object or window) very handy. The 'Dwell Click' function which exists now, is not very useable to me. I would appreciate it a lot if such a 'Click Lock' could be implemented. Thanks in advance.

Any idea when this crucial accessibility feature will actually come to life? Here we've been asking about it since at least ver 8.x and yet it is still missing as of 16.04. The Dwell feature is not very usable at all. I'd certainly rather stick to Windows where it is a core component of Windows before having to do without.

Can you help with this problem?
