Ubuntu 18.04 - The network icon has disappeared from the top panel

Ubuntu 18.04-The network icon has disappeared from the top panel.

Hello!
After some updates, I noticed that the network icon was missing from the top panel, although it still connects to the Internet. It does not generate any error messages and I do not know what to do.
The solution found brings the icon back, but after rebooting the PC it disappears again:

$ sudo service network-manager stop
$ sudo rm/var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state
$ sudo service network-manager start

Does anyone know how to fix this?

No. I have an Intel MB with on board network

Yes.

After recovering the icon with the above procedure, the icon disappeared again after new updates. I have retrieved just running on the terminal:
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure network-manager

Restart and there it is back!

Then why do you want the icon if you don't change networks and it works without it? Why put any effort into this?

It seems strange to have a system missing things. I like Ubuntu and like to see everything working normal.
It occurred on 15/03 a new network-manager update and everything indicates it's back to normal. We can consider the issue resolved.

I marked it as resolved too soon! After the latest updates the problem came back. I know how to make the icon appear, but it shouldn't be like this. I understand it to be a developing version and I hope you will solve this problem.

I'm having the same problem on my Ubuntu 18.04 lts beta Laptop after one of the updates, and I do change networks often being that it's a test system for the new OS.

sudo lspci -nnk | grep net -A2

Why have many questions regarding the same problem?

I'm going to do a new installation with the latest ISO and try to draw my own conclusions.
