Installing Ubuntu on a Dell XPS13 7th Gen with UEFI

Asked by Andre

Hello,
I try to install Ubuntu (or other Linux) on my Computer, a Dell XPS13 with a SSD, UEFI secure Boot and and and in a dual boot environment.

Actualy it was no problem to install Ubuntu (I dont know how) but when I restart I can not see the Ubuntu partition in the start options. It starts also not into grup. During instalation it was not possible to mount the Windows Partition.

The Question now is:
Do I need to create a secure key for the Instalation?
What changes must be done in the BIOS of my Computer to get it running?
What must be the rigth order of actions must be done?

And I guess with the Answers alot of new questions.

Kind Regards
Andre

The Question is also
Is this problem now related to UEFI or to Ubuntu
Is it related to the secure boot of the Computer or why do I not see the partition of Ubuntu
it is not so easy to isolate the problem.

by the way: When I try to install Ubuntu when I start in UEFI secure mode the intaller do not see the internal SSD.
When I install it without secure mode I see the SSD but can not use Windows or other partitions of the SSD.
