Problem when using kernel 413.0.26

Asked by Ken Blahnik

When running kernel 413.0.26 and wanting to access Timeshift through the GUI, it asks for password and after that the screen goes to a mess. There are vertical colored lines and everything locks up. The only way out is to hold the power button until the machine shuts down, then reboot. This also happens when I try to do updates using the update manager, once in awhile.

I do not have this problem at all when using kernel 410.0.38. Do I have a kernel bug or just a problem with configuration.

OS Linux Mint 18.3 32 bit
Processor Intel Pentium 1.73GHz x1
1 GB memory
Graphics Card Intel Corp Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GM2 Express Graphic Cont.

This is an old knock around laptop, it worked until this latest kernel was installed.

Linux Mint is not supported by the Ubuntu community in any way. It has it's own community and forums

I suggest you post on here:
https://forums.linuxmint.com

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported here. They have their own support.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Ken Blahnik for more information if necessary.
