Can I use Xbox wireless adapter with Xbox One controller on Ubuntu

I am trying to connect Xbox One wireless controller to Ubuntu PC. I have a Xbox wireless adapter for windows. I installed the drivers on Ubuntu using the command . sudo apt-get install xboxdrv
But the adapter doesn't recognize the controller. Does the adapter even support Xbox one controller on Ubuntu ?
