Hello, I don't know the answer ...

I just want to post this link, maybe you can find some information about Google Earth and Compiz

Good luck

Presumably you have already got all the Medibuntu stuff sorted?
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

This does keep cropping up even on really decent hardware (better than mine anyway) and where Medibuntu all seems to be working properly.

So i guess my answer is "No", but please do try the Medibuntu packages because they do often help.

Ahhh, which type of graphics card nVidia or Ati? It seems that even though nVidia are more unhelpful (imo) they seem to have better proprietary drivers, even than the new(ish) ati ones.

Hopefully, we can all keep hassling certain hardware manufacturers to provide a lot more resources for OpenSource drivers developed by proper linux developers - perhaps even paying them decent wages too! Windows coders just don't really have the right mind-set for OpenSource and need to be led gently forwards into this 'new' realm, rather than being thrown in at the deep end. lol, just my own personal opinions.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
