Touchscreen not working. How do I get hardware support and how can I help?

Asked by Bram Coenen

Hello everyone!

A few months ago I bought a new HP ENVY X360 Convertible 15-bq0xx (the AMD version) and this week I decided to dualboot my computer. First I tried to install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, however this only resulted in an error at bootup "Failed to get gpio IRQ" and messed up pixels. After installing 17.10 instead, Ubuntu was up and running although the error still shows up at bootup and the wifi hardware was not recognized. After updating to the newest stable mainline kernel (v4.14.5), wifi was working flawlessly.

However the touchscreen is still not working, I even tried the v4.15.rc3 kernel without success. I tried some walk-troughs and nothing helped. Now my question is, who do I contact about this problem and how can I help? There is a lot of information about bug reporting, but I haven't found anything on touchscreens.

Thank you for any information!
