Are you trying to setup a dual boot or just have Ubuntu on the system?

I'll tried to setup dual boot with winxp. Then I find out that Ubuntu couldn't find where the partition started. My plan from the beginning was to let the installation delete xp. Then I delete it manually with the disk tool and yeas now the installation worked. I'll installed the 32 bit and it worked perfect till I in the update menu find the tab "drivers" where I read that I could change the display and the AMD driver from the installation to the amd and nivida own drivers. Of course the system crashed. - I know I am stupid. but the only way to learn is try and error. Well, that give me the chance to try the AMD64 version. Installation worked but during update process I'll got the famous blue screen - it felt like win de ca vue. There I am at the moment..... I will continue on monday
