I'm trying to burn a data cd using the k3b burning software, but my machine doesn't seem to be able to read or detect the blank disk when I insert it. It is able to detect as disk that already has data written on it, but whenever I insert a blank disk nothing happens, as if the machine cannot detect it. Is this a common problem, or is there something wrong with my machine? I haven't ever used k3b before, but I've heard excellent reviews about it. I've downloaded a package for a game and I'm, trying to install it on a laptop that doesn't have network access for the time being. I'm trying to burn the zip package to disk so I can install it on the laptop, but when I insert a blank disk to be burned to, neither my computer nor the k3b program seems able to detect it. I checked out the fstab config file, but it only has an entry for a floppy drive. I do not see an entry for a cd drive in that file. My machine is running ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Can you help me fix this?
