ubuntu 14.04 no sound detected

Asked by sunil maurya

on removing and installing pulseaudio an error shows up:

 /sbin/ldconfig.real: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libiec61883.so.0 is not a symbolic link

what should I do???
I checked aplay -l and it showing two cards but in setting in play sound through tray no options are showing.
so I check internet and followed steps to remove pulseaudio but error shows up every time.
sometime error is:

pulseaudio: error while loading shared libraries: libsamplerate.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am new to ubuntu and totally stuck. Need help!!!

The message
error while loading shared libraries: libsamplerate.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
is unexpected.

What is the output of
dpkg -l libsamplerate0

Try the commands
apt-get install --reinstall libsamplerate0
pulseaudio -k

and report the results

connection to PulseAudio failed. Automatically try in 5s
In this case this is likely because PULSE_SERVER in the Environment /X11 Root Window Properties or default-server in client.conf is misconfigured.
This situation can also arise when PulseAudio crashed and leftstale details inthe X11 Root Window.
If this is the case, then PulseAudio should autospawn again, or if this is not configured you should run start-pulseaudio-x11 manually.

I run

cd ~/
wget http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh -O alsa-info.sh && bash alsa-info.sh

then

sudo alsa force -reload

then I played any video and run
pavucontrol
on terminal

In open window, in playback in front of video I change the option and boom sound is back.
but when I rebooted everything again gone. I again followed same steps.
How to fix it???
I noticed after rebooting there is not showing any option in record sound from but after running above commands I get Internal Microphone built-in audio in option tray.

Any permanent solution???

Try

sudo apt-get install --reinstall libiec61883-0

then reboot and finally execute the commands

cd ~
bash alsa-info.sh --upload

and tell us the link (www.alsa-project.org/db/ plus hex values) that you receive for this command.

Your output shows that your speaker volume is set to zero.
And several audio channels are muted. Start pulseaudio and unmute ("M" key) all channels and increase volume.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask sunil maurya for more information if necessary.
