Ubuntu

Sound barely audible

I am using ubuntu 7.04 and the sound from the laptop speakers is barely audible.
When I first installed ubuntu 6.06, the sound was working perfect. After I upgraded to 6.10, at some point, I lost the sound (but not completely)
I hope someone can help me restore the sound again to normal.

go into a terminal and type

sudo apt-get install alsamixergui

then go to Multimedia and select 'Alsamixergui'

might sort things out
