can't find CD/DVD Creator in 16.04 LTS

Asked by George Hunter

Recently upgraded from 12.04 LTS to 16.04 LTS and can't find CD/DVD Creator anywhere. It isn't offered as an option when I load a blank CD, I can't find an executable, and can't even find it in Synaptic Package manager to re-install it. (I can find Brasero, & I will install that if necessary.)

Brasero is one option and is default installed in Ubuntu. If you like Brasero then install it and use it.

I have now installed Brasero, which fixes the problem, but does not solve the mystery.

But having installed Brasero, CD/DVD writer has now appeared, and works!
