Ubuntu Libreoffice crash
Since an Ubuntu update some months ago, I cannot use LibreOffice any more. I attempted to remove LibreOffice , and reinstall it, but it does not help.
Libreoffice can be started, but anything you do in the window, results in greying and consequently crashing. I do get an Ubuntu error message, these have been reported to you several times. The main info is as follows:

I see some libreoffice-related packages uninstalled, which I would expect to be installed.
What is he output of the command
aot-get --simulate install libreoffice
Revision history for this message

Yes I had a full installation, deinstalled everything and installed only writer again.
apt-get --simulate install libreoffice
NOTE: This is only a simulation!
apt-get needs root privileges for real execution.
Keep also in mind that locking is deactivated,
so don't depend on the relevance to the real current situation!

This output shows that the installation of libreoffice is incomplete. Furthermore there are some package updates waiting to be installed and more than 100 obsolete packages can be removed.
I suggest that as a first step you install libreoffice and install the package updates:
sudo apt-get install libreoffice
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Please copy/paste the output into this question document that we can check for any errors or unexpected results.

Arggg.
When I enter the first command in the terminal, it says [sudo] enter password:
I have a white square, static. I cannot enter anything: the square stays at the same position. Doubleclick give a long white square, also unresponsive.

When entering the password on the "[sudo] password for ..." prompt, you do not get any feedback (no echo, not even '*' placeholders(.
Just "blind" type the password and press the return key.

I did. I used the same password that I use to unlock Ubuntu and the lockring, but the terminal said: wrong

Could it have to do with the capitals in my password?

You have to enter the password as usual (with all caps and small letters).

It seems to help to slow down typing the password. Now it worked.
Here the whole output for the two commands.

May also want to run:
sudo dpkg -P `dpkg -l | grep ^rc | awk {'print $2'}`
You have a few packages which you have removed with residual configuration (the package lines starting with 'rc').
You could also try renaming the configuration folder for LibreOffice which is a folder under ~/.config
Just give it a different name then launch LibreOffice.
Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask Henk Stuurman for more information if necessary.
