ubuntu 17.10 will not install. or video card crashes.

Asked by James

I have used ubuntu for years, no problems. I tried ubuntu gnome but allways had video card problems. I just tried ubuntu 17.10, and have the same problems I had with ubuntu-gnome. Thats when I could get it to install? What happened? I now use ubuntu-mate, with no problem at all. What happened to ubuntu? I could not even get it to install, and when it did the system would freeze, or the video card would crash. Like I said ubuntu-mate works great. Is this a problem that is going to be fixed, I love ubuntu. I am poor and use an old emachine amd64 model:EL1358G. Is this the way its going to be? Do not get me wrong ubuntu-mate works great. But I love UBUNTU!
