Unable to get output on Intel Sound card 64-bit Ubuntu Intrepid ibix install

I am unable to get sound output on my soundcard (Intel), I am using a 64-bit Ubuntu Intrepid Ibix install. Two of my co-workers have exact same hardware and distro and don't experience this problem, somewhat of a mystery.

Are you sure you've asked this in the right forum? This is the Cyphesis Worldforge server, perhaps you meant to address your question to the Ubuntu project instead?
