Unable to mount smb share after upgrading to 17.10

Asked by Mauricio Chaves

Hi,in Kubuntu 17.04 I configured my fstab to mount the hdd plugged directly to my router automatically. After upgrading to 17.10, everytime I had a "host is down" error. I was able to access smb share by clicking "Network" in Dolphin, but I wasn't able to mount it anymore. After many hours of research I added to my fstab's mount line "ver=1.0" and it solved the problem. Is that normal with a newer kernel?

It may be a bug because Artful is not ready and not stable.

You can start the process with:

ubuntu-bug smbclient
