no shut down listed in system ,, 9.04

just installed 9.04 looks good! but there is no shut down listed in the system or in the main menu and have no hardware tester.. over all installed in about 45 min. was very simple.

I really didn't get you. I suspect that you are saying that there is no shut down option for you in 9.04.If that's the case , then just right click on the pannel at the top of your desktop and choose add to pannel option. There select Custom Application Launcher. A dialog box appears.There in the Name type Shut Down or Turn Off and in command type sudo init0. Even then if it doesn't work in command, type sudo init 0. Then you will find the your custom application launcher where you right clicked at the first place.When you click on it, your pc should turn off automatically.Repeat the same procedure for Reboot.The command for reboot is sudo init6 or sudo init 6.

thank you very much !!!!!!! i now have a shut down button right beside my trash can ,just plain cool I LOVE UBUNTU

I have also found that you can left click the small green man at the top of the desk top and do more than the button does {guest session,lock screen,log out ,suspend,hibernate,restart,and shut down thank you!!
