need support for running a qt5 application on kubuntu

Asked by Diós Szabolcs

Hi! Sorry for my english! I want to move from windows to kubuntu because I like the kde plasma enviroment.
I really need to run a software on it, which one has a linux version but not works on that distro.
I am checked under Ubuntu gnome (with x and wayland sessions both) and worked very well.
Under Kubuntu if I run under gnome desktop it works, but if I run under Plasma X it starts, but I got some errors that the program cannot create thumbnails. Under Plasma wayland session the program doesn't starts.

Instructions for installing that software:
               wget http://repo.magicq.co.uk/magicq.co.uk.gpg -qO - | sudo apt-key add -
echo deb http://repo.magicq.co.uk/magicq/ magicq main | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
               sudo apt-get update
Install the latest stable version of MagicQ
               sudo apt-get install magicq
Or if you want the latest beta release
               sudo apt-get install magicq-beta

Under Plasma X the error shows up when you patch a head (Patch button ---> choose head -----> (select any from brands and heads ex.: 7Beam ----> RGBWMover ) ------>patch it ( then if you push any number, that window closes and you cannot find that head under lay1 button )

lsb_release -a:

   No LSB Modules installed
   Distributor id: neon
   Description: KDE neon Developer Edition
   Release: 16.04

You are using KDE Neon. None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported here.

KDE Neon has its own forum here:
