I'm trying to figure out which package to report this bug against ...

This is a bug on boot, which has something to do with the graphical boot process. (Removing "splash" and setting '$vt.handoff=7" allows the system to boot. I can't get debug output, though, since adding "debug" causes bootup to freeze.
