ExFAT file format

Asked by srikumar

Using Ubuntu 17.04 with all the updates to date.

The Memory Card 64GB with 4K resolution defaluts to an "exFAT" file format and cannot be formatted to NTFS, Fat 32 or Fat. The computer system however will not read "exFAT" format from a card reader and a long error message appears.

Perhaps the drivers for an "exFAT" format requires to be downloaded.

Any suggestions?
Thank you

I assume that you are missing the exfat-tools package.
Try the command (in a terminal window)

sudo apt-get install exfat-fuse exfat-utils
