unable to make backup link of'./bot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic'before installing new version

Hi,
I 'm using Ubuntu 8.10. After updating with synaptic package manager all available updates are installed except linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic_2.6.27-7.16_i386.deb.Error message from the package manager is;
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic_2.6.27-7.16_i386.deb.unable to make backup link of'./bot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic'before installing new version.
How can I rectify this problem and update linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic.

Hi, are you using wubi on a fat system ?

if so, you should have a look at this bug report : https://bugs.launchpad.net/wubi/+bug/252900
