install problem no error message

intel celeron m 1.46
446 ram
ati 200m series integrated graphics card
toshiba laptop

when i try to install it goes to a screen with ubuntu logo and a load bar bouncing back and forth. then it stops and begins to fill like a load bar, fills up three blocks of the bar then it just stops everything. it even stops accessing my cd drive.

no other os on the system
idownloaded the 32 bit desktop version
burned at 4x checked cd integrity ok
checked memory ok

firian,

Sometime the splash screen causes problems, or the boot error are not visible because of the splash screen. disable the splash screen disable the splash screen removing the "splash" parameter. A guide for doing this is here:

You can also try the other boot parameters indicated in the guide.
