Mystery popup message during boot

The following message appears at the top left of the screen for a couple of seconds and then disappears. It doesn't always appear, but more than half the time. It has been very difficult to copy it down so if there are errors I,m sorry. Should I be concerned or is this normal and expected?
LVMetad is not active yet, using direct activation during syslinit/
