getting ubuntu source code to build and create ubuntu bootable image

I want to compile the ubuntu souce and generate a image by adding some packages, how can i get the ubuntu souurce code and build steps to create image. Can any one help me

You can remaster Ubuntu as you wish. This is how the "Ubuntu based" distributions are made.

You don't need to recompile Ubuntu if you just want to change the packages installed by default.
