feisty PATA IDE driver apparently broken ?

Asked by Howard Smith

I recently performed an upgrade from Edgy to Feisty, which went 100% smoothly. Thanks!

However, i now get the following message in /var/log/messages ...

May 12 13:28:04 charisma kernel: [134017.180000] hdc: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
May 12 13:28:04 charisma kernel: [134017.180000] ide: failed opcode was: unknown
May 12 13:28:05 charisma kernel: [134017.996000] ide1: reset: success

this happens at a rate of once every minute or two, during which time the system is completely locked.
When the IDE 'reset: success' finishes, the system is back in business.
I know my drive is good, and never had a glitch under EDGY with my (1 SATA / 1 PATA) drive configuration.

Im seeing this same issue on the forums, in various versions but dont believe this has been identified
as a Feisty Driver problem, fully as of yet.
