What happens when you try and boot? Does it just boot Windows, or do you get any sort of error message.

Regards,

Andy

Unfortunately your answer somehow was garbled. Can you please answer again to "What happens when you try and boot? Does it just boot Windows, or do you get any sort of error message."
In addition, it will be helpful if you let us know how you created the Ubuntu installation on said stick.

I think rhrdc was saying that the boot goes straight to the hard-drive and boots straight into Xp - ignoring the Usb stick

I was wondering if you have tried it in other Usb slots? Sometimes 2 slots are more important than the rest. Also maybe need to make sure it's in Usb2.0 type slot instead of Usb1.0, it's impossible to tell which is which so just try different slots perhaps? Can you try it without other Usb devices plugged in at all?

Good luck and happy hunting :)

Can you help with this problem?
