list of supported hardware

Asked by elustran

I'm looking to build a computer to install Ubuntu (or a variant) on. I would like to know if there is a detailed hardware compatibility list I can reference when building my computer so I can avoid excessively troublesome hardware.

The purpose of the machine is to output video to my living room TV, so if anybody has any tips for that purpose as well, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

As an addendum, I HAVE seen the Ubuntu wiki, but some of the hardware I am considering is not listed there.

Well, ubuntu can run on pretty much all modern machines and CPU's, just make sure that all the hardware in your machine is complient with each other

Can you help with this problem?
