ubuntu software app no longer opens

Ubuntu Software App no longer opens. Ubuntu Software Center and Synaptic open fine. I have reviewed earlier responses to similar questions but am still stuck. When I attempt to open via the launcher, nothing happens. I have tried the following;
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
ubuntu-software

When I get to the last command, ubuntu-software, nothing happens, there is no response to the command.

Thanks for your reply,

When I enter sudo ubuntu-software, it asks for the password, and then nothing happens. The little square just blinks on and off.

You won't get any feedback but type your mind that you logged in with and hit ENTER

I don't understand "type your mind that you logged in with". If you mean type in my password, I have done that, and then nothing happens. and I still can't access Ubuntu Software

Sorry. No idea what I typed there. Probably drunk.

You type the password you log into ubuntu with. You get no feedback but the password is being accepted

Maybe deleting the cached data helps.

rm ~/.local/share/gnome-software/*

When I delete the cached data, Ubuntu Software opens, but devoid of content.

And I get the following:

When I rebooted, Ubuntu Software opened correctly. Thank you very much. That solved the problem. Please let me know if there is any significance to all the warnings in the above print out.

Hello dear pablo ... I am stuck in same problem ,when i try to open ubuntu software then nothing hapeen ,ubuntu software not open ,please help me as soon as possible ,what i need to do ?

Even my ubuntu 16.04 already up to date ...

I followed the instructions above and it solved my problem:

delete the cached data by entering at the terminal the following:

rm ~/.local/share/gnome-software/*

And then when I robooted Ubuntu software worked correctly.
