EVGA X58 Motherboard Support

Asked by findlay70

Hi,
I clean installed Ubuntu 8.10 on my new i7920, EVGA X58SLI, EVGA GTX260 system this week. Great install and all went well. I contacted EVGA about Linux drivers and they said I should get these from Intel. Seems EVGA doesn't support Linux (big, big pity). If Ubuntu runs okay, do I need to do anything with my drivers...? Does anyone know where I can get support from this as EVGA (although they have great overall support) don't have any for Linux.
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

Ubuntu has built-in drivers (part of the Linux kernel, I think) so if everything is working, then you are good. The only time you need to hunt down special drivers is when things aren't working. For most things, if you haven't noticed any major issues already, you should be okay. In fact, as time goes on the built-in drivers actually improve.

Can you help with this problem?
