Feisty thinks my TV card's a keyboard

Asked by MartinonMedlock

When I look up device manager for my TV card I get this line:

Left pane: CC88 IR (Hauppauge Nova-T DVB-T

Right pane under Advanced tab: info.capabilities strlst "input", "input. keyboard", "button"

This being so, Totem Movie Player says under Preferences that I have no TV out.

What's going on and how do I get Ubuntu to recognise the TV card for what it is? Please be easy on me, a newbie.

Thanks Massimo

The PCI device is listed:

"01:0a.2 Multimedia controller: Conexant CX23880/1/2/3 PCI Video and
Audio Decoder [MPEG Port] (rev 05)
Subsystem: Hauppauge computer works Inc. Nova-T DVB-T Model 909

The motherboard is an AsRock ALive NF6G-DVI.

It has nVidia GeForce 6100 nForce 430 and MCP 61 High Definition Audio.

The processor is an AMD Sempron 3400+.

Finally, the May 2007 release of Ubuntu is the 64 bit version.

I hope I've supplied all the useful information.

Thanks for your interest
