Screesaver locks the system

Asked by FabioV

I Use ubuntu 8.04 and I have set a random screen saver to start when the system is idle.
Everything worked fine but in the last days, perhaps after an automatic system upgrade, randomly when the screen saver starts it locks everything: I see the image in the video but it is frozen and keyboard and mouse doesn't work. The only solution I found is to push the power button and restart my laptop.

Thank you everybody for any support.
Fabio

I had a similar problem after recovery from screensaver and reported it as a bug here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/328760

It's probably a bug, either post on the bug I linked or open a new bug. In your case, it could also have to do with the fact that you have a random screen saver. I have the feeling that some of these screensavers are not always stable so my screensaver is simply a blank page.
