Win key to mimic WinXP operation

Asked by matrix35

Is there a way to configure the Win Key to mimic Windows XP's operation?

1- WIN -> Pops the Application menu
2- WIN+E -> Launches Konquerer or any Folder Browsing application
3- WIN+D -> Shows the desktop
4- WIN+R -> Shows the RUN window

I can either configure it to work as options 2,3,4 or option 1 at any given time, but not in all options.

Can this be done?
if not, where should I list this as a feature request?

I'm using ubuntu edgy.

thanks

I know we have to go to System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts

the problem is where WinKey is viewed as either a modifier or keypress not both.

in order for the full list to be implemented, WinKey should be considered both modifier & key.

This must be one of the oldest bugs.
Have a look at this: bug 12153

It gives some workaround solutions too.

Can you help with this problem?
