restarting ubuntu

Hi

ubuntu works fine for me but the problem when i restarts ubuntu to switch to windows.
actually what happens is when i click on restart , desktop goes off and black screen appears with a cursor blinking on it and nothing happens.

What version are you running? Are all the updates installed?

Holding the power-off switch in for the count of 10 usually does the trick. Not recommended for frequesnt use but sometimes it just has to be done.

When you installed Ubuntu were you inside Windows or did you do this?
