smbpasswd segmentation fault

Running Dapper and this happened ... what do I do?
New to Linux ... some previous Unix experience.

iain@iain-linux:~$ sudo smbpasswd -a linuxclient
New SMB password:
Retype new SMB password:
Segmentation fault
iain@iain-linux:~$ sudo smbpasswd -x linuxclient
Segmentation fault
iain@iain-linux:~$
