Cant run any Quake games

Asked by Maccio High

When I install Quake and launch it, a window pops up saying "Required data files are missing. Please use game-data-packager to build and install the data packages for Quake.". So I went into the terminal, simply typing "game-data-packager" to which I was greeted with...I don't even know. After a bit of reading I logged into root, re-opened the console and typed "game-data-packager -i quake". After all of the downloads were completed I logged back into my normal profile, and attempted to launch Quake again, and got the same message. Basically, I have no idea how to use "game-data-packager" Any help? Instructions on how to "...build and install the data packages for Quake." or simply how I'm supposed to use the packager?

How did you install Quake please?
What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; dpkg | grep -i quake

Thanks
