Spanish keyboard layout some characters used in terminal don't appear

Asked by RayArdia

Terminal commands include special characters, eg. the Dollar sign and the "tilde" (squiggly dash) which is on my keyboard ñ but not available separately. Is there a way to get and insert these characters?
Many thanks in advance.
Ray

Thanks for reply, but my problem isn't typing Spanish characters - I can do that fine as mine is a Spanish keyboard. The problem is when a command has to be put into Terminal which has characters which are not physically ON my Keyboard, for example I have a € character but no dollar sign.

Thank you very much for helping a rather dim septuagenarian!
