DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply

i am a ubuntu 8.10(newbie) user and yesterday when i am working in windows vista then suddenly my laptop(Dell Inspiron 1525)hang the i restart it using power button then after it it will not start in windows vista but correctly working in UBUNTU 8.10 but the problem is that one of my ntfs partition is not opening in ubuntu when i just clicked on it(to open) my ubuntu is also hang and after a long time(5 to 7 min.) an dialog box comes show an error

Unable to mount-Peeyush(it is my drives lable)

DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply:Did not recive a reply.Possible causes include:the remote application did not send a reply,the message bus security policy blocked the reply,the reply time out expired,or the network connection was broken.

i have tried a lot to mount my hard disk using terminal but i got nothing

so pls reply me soon because my very important data in this drive or tell me any way how to recover data from this drive.

Open a terminal and type

dmesg |less

Scroll down looking for messages regarding your disk.

I don't think it's a bug in dbus, I think you've got a corrupt drive.
The messages from dmesg should tell you enough to determine if you need to reinstall and restore your data from backup.
