Won't start up after doing an update!!!

hi...

I've just done an update and now my laptop wont fully boot up.

It doesn't even get up to the log in screen, the screen goes black after the loading bar is full and nothing happens.

The only way i can get to my desktop is by pressing ESC on the grub screen and starting Ubuntu******** 27.11 Generic instead of Ubuntu********* 27.13 Generic....

I'm really baffled....

Hi I have had the same problem with my HP dv5 nvidia 9600 laptop. But I boot to recovery mode and select fix Xserver which reverts to no 3D efects. Also I still can not get wifi working.

Can you help with this problem?
