Hello and welcome to the Ubuntu world. To get the Airport Extreme to work, you will have to install the package bcm43xx-fwcutter. The best would be to have a wired connect while doing this, because the firmware required will be loaded from the internet during the installation.

If your card still refuses to work then, try to load the Airport driver by typing »sudo modprobe bcm43xx« in a terminal.

check out the aiport section for your case. after doing this network manager, the two computer icon in the top bar, should show the wireless connections you are around.

enjoy your ubuntu experience.
