temperature high on Dell Inspiron 1525 kernel 4.4.0-71&72

noticing that temp zone 0 (via ACPI) value has gone from a normal of around 36c to over 60c (60-65) after installing updates and newer kernels 4.4.0-71/72
The system is not running hot or in a hot environment. CPU is running 45-49c. CPU usage is low / idle.
What package / system could be causing this I stumped?

If you boot back to the old kernel, is it OK?

I don't have the old kernel.
The last two days the temperature has been ok.
Hopefully whatever triggered this spike has cleared itself.
