firefox cuelga intepid

Hola! Intente volver a instalar Firefox 3
$ Sudo apt-get remove firefox
$ Sudo apt-get install firefox

Puse el resultado.

Hola, gracias por la recomendacion..

investigando un poco más el tema, el problema esta en la convinación
de Java y los drivers propietarios de nvidia, en conjunto con mi
hardware (AMD 9950, Motherboard Asus M3N78-VM, con chipset nvidia
8200). No está todavía muy bien soportado.. tengo problemas hasta con
los puertos USB..!...

Salio hace poco la version 3.0.8 de firefox
Fijate con esa a ver que pasa

ahora pruebo, pero te cuento que estuve haciendo algunas otras pruebas, y me
parece que el problema puede estar entre JAVA, Flash, compiz y Gnome.. en
concordancia con los drivers (no muy pulidos que digamos) de Nvidia, que no
se adaptan muy bien que digamos al mother que tengo (M3N78-VM con una 8200
onboard).. En general, me parece que este mother no posee mucha
compatibilidad con ubuntu..

en realidad, gnome es quien se cuelga (mouse y teclado, o responden, y la
pantalla queda frizada), pero intrepid sigue funcionando, al menos el
servidor https que tengo instalado sigue respondiendo..

recientemente me canse un poco de gnome y me puse a probar xfce (en
xubuntu), desde alli no he notado ese problema (obvio, no está gnome).

El problema suelen ser los drivers de las placas de video, yo tengo una Ati, y me vuelve loco, lo mejor es instalar las menores cantidad de efectos de escritorio posible hasta que estos sean estables.
Tené en cuenta que los fabricantes de hard, solo certifican y dan drivers para win , y para Linux hay mucha gente haciendo esfuerzos increíbles, tratando de hacer drivers open source, pero sin la documentación necesaria, y sin apoyo del fabricante te darás cuenta que es muy difícil.

Suerte
