Please restore gradual volume in sound applet!

Hi folks. As usual, this new update (17.04) is great.

The only drawback is the stepped volume control in Unity's panel.
Can you please make it gradual (smooth) again?

In the meantime (and for others who think like me), maybe this could do the trick:
