Ubuntu 17.04 weird DNS issue

This happened on all my machines when replacing Ubuntu 16.10 to 17.04.
In my case I got a 'server not found' when trying to reach a subdomain of a domain. The offered solution solved the problem (till now).

Yes, no problem. And it works fine on a tablet or a phone with Android. On the pc's with the problem, it works well with Windows (dual boot).

can you ping the hosts from the Ubuntu system OK? DO they resolve OK?

Yes, I can ping the subdomains. They resolve to the main domain (thw www).

Then DNS is working......
