how to install ubuntu with windows 7 without loss of data.?

I have a 1Tb Hard disk with 8GB RAM.. and 64 bit processor....
I have install ubuntu with windows 7 (dual partition) without loss of any data on my hard disk..
how can i install the ubuntu os...

Firstly, run a final backup of your important data.

Resize the NTFS partition to make free space. You'll need about 30Gb or more to be comfortable.

Boot to the Ubuntu install media and install to the freed space.
