i would like to switch back to window xp but for some reasons, i cannot reinstall it even after a rebooting.

Asked by eugune

All my partition has been taken over my Utunbu and now I am trying to reinstall Window XP, but after rebooting and selecting "booting from a CD", all i see is a message something like hardware configuration is being reviewed, then a blank page. I cannot install Window XP back. Any ideas?

Just to clarify, rebooting the computer with the CD does not work at all. It is weird I know. Does this have anything to do with use entire space for Utunbu?

You should see a welcome message with blue background and white text instead shortly after the black screen. You should wait for up to 5 minutes for that welcome message to appear.
Are you trying to install it on a laptop? Then maybe you need to connect an external monitor.
Otherwise your WinXP CD might be broken or your Hardware might be incompatible with your installation cd (maybe it's not at the latest Service Pack level). Better contact your hardware manufacturer then.

FYI, your Ubuntu installation should not be related to that problem as the partitioning scheme is read later. With Windows Setup you can remove (but not read or otherwise use) any Ubuntu partitions.

Can you help with this problem?
