Ubuntu 8.10 - Updating problem

Hello guys,

I am new in Ubuntu and I have the version 8.10 with windows xp together. My problem is I could update all stuff except "linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic". When I update this, I have an error which is:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic_2.6.27-7.16_i386.deb: unable to make backup link of `./boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic' before installing new version

So what should I do ???

Hi, are you using wubi on a fat system ?

if so, you should have a look at bthis bug report : https://bugs.launchpad.net/wubi/+bug/252900

I have Ubuntu Desktop Edition... But yes installed it from Windows as exe file. Is it bug?
