Do recording programs like reason, pro tools and Acid work with this OS

would like to use ubuntu but I do recording on the computer with varius programs and want to know if the work with this os or are they windoes and mac based only. Thanks

you should check with the manufacturer to see if they offer a linux version, or you can see if its compatible with wine:

Also there are often native linux apps that are better than their Windows counter-parts. If something works on Mac then there is a good chance it will also work on Linux, the Mac OS was allegedly developed from a linux base!

Ideally try setting up a proper dual-boot and try out what owrks before commiting yourself. These guidelines help you make a system that combines the best of both OS's making a system that is very much more robust, flexible and enjoyable than having either OS alone (and why not make it a triple boot with a MacOs too! lol)
