why i can't connect to a wireless wifi that has a WEP key using ubuntu 8.04?

I Have the key, but when i use ubuntu, it just wont connect. It connects to other open wireless networks with no problem, but this one with a key, it just wont work. further more, when i use XP, i tconnects with no problem.

I had a similar problem until I switched my wireless utility to "Wifi Radar" now works fine.

Can you help with this problem?
