synaptic package manager is bugged

E: The package bmp-docklet needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
E: Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.
E: Unable to lock the list directory

i get this in synaptic package manager
i cant get it to load a package list

Hello,

Probably you are having problems with your repositories. My advice - reedit your sources.list in terminal type sudo gedit /ect/apt/sources.list

Here you can generate a new sources.list http://www.ubuntulinux.nl/source-o-matic , just follow the wiki over there.

If the problem persist than write a bug report

After editing your sources list, make sure to hit "Reload" in Synaptic to download new package information from your fixed sources.

i did as u said and i got this error

Hi!

Try going to the terminal and doing the following command:

sudo apt-get update

Can you help with this problem?
